The band has also been a strong contender on the competition field in Grade 3 at most contests between Sydney and Brisbane. Band History Bellinger River District Pipe Band Inc. started in 1976 in the township of Bellingen, practicing in various local halls. The Band incorporated the remnants of the old Dorrigo Pipe Band ( Called the Plateau Highlanders ).
